 Disease OntologyMeSH
Disease ID:DOID:3829D010911
Disease Name:pituitary adenomaPituitary Neoplasms
Category:Disease OntologyMeSH
Type:Neoplasms
Define:A pituitary gland benign neoplasm that derives_from glandular epithelial cells.Neoplasms which arise from or metastasize to the PITUITARY GLAND. The majority of pituitary neoplasms are adenomas, which are divided into non-secreting and secreting forms. Hormone producing forms are further classified by the type of hormone they secrete. Pituitary adenomas may also be characterized by their staining properties (see ADENOMA, BASOPHIL; ADENOMA, ACIDOPHIL; and ADENOMA, CHROMOPHOBE). Pituitary tumors may compress adjacent structures, including the HYPOTHALAMUS, several CRANIAL NERVES, and the OPTIC CHIASM. Chiasmal compression may result in bitemporal HEMIANOPSIA.

Reference

[1] PubMed ID:33174326
Disease Name:Pituitary Neoplasms
Sample:ulcerative edge tissues of DFU
Dysfunction Pattern:interaction[binding to miR-29b]
Validated Method:qRT-PCR
Description:In the ulcerative edge tissues of DFU, high expression of lncRNA H19 and FBN1 and low expression of miR-29b were observed. Altogether, upregulation of lncRNA H19 can elevate the expression of FBN1 through competitively binding to miR-29b, which enhances the proliferation, migration, and inhibits apoptosis of fibroblasts, thus facilitating the wound healing of DFU.
Causality:Yes
Causal Description:Silencing of lncRNA H19 led to inhibited proliferation, migration, and enhanced apoptosis of fibroblasts, accompanied by downregulated FBN1 but upregulated miR-29b, which diminished the expression of TGF-β1, Smad3, FN, and Col-1 and reduced extracellular matrix accumulation.
