Disease Name:head and neck squamous cell carcinomaSquamous Cell Carcinoma of Head and Neck
Category:Disease OntologyMeSH
Type:Neoplasms
Define:A head and neck carcinoma that has_material_basis_in squamous cells that line the moist, mucosal surfaces inside the head and neck. The most common type of head and neck carcinoma that originates from cells on the surface of the NASAL CAVITY; MOUTH; PARANASAL SINUSES, SALIVARY GLANDS, and LARYNX. Mutations in TNFRSF10B, PTEN, and ING1 genes are associated with this cancer.

Reference

[1] PubMed ID:35481460
Disease Name:Squamous Cell Carcinoma of Head and Neck
Sample:OSCC cells
Dysfunction Pattern:Interaction(miRNA-1299/LIF axis)
Validated Method:RNA Pull-Down//Western Blot//Transfection//Proliferation Assay//qRT-PCR//PCR//Invasion Assay//IF
Description:The expression of circGOLPH3 was upregulated in OSCC cells. Mechanistically, circGOLPH3 functioned as a microRNA sponge and downregulated miR-1299 expression. miR-1299 downregulated the expression of LIF by targeting its 3'-untranslated region. Inhibition of the circGOLPH3/miR-1299/LIF axis suppressed the growth, migration, and invasion of OSCC cells. These findings indicate that the circGOLPH3/miR-1299/LIF axis promotes OSCC cell growth, migration, and invasion and that this axis is a potential therapeutic target for OSCC.
Causality:Yes
Causal Description:circGOLPH3 promoted the growth of OSCC in vitro and in vivo. Additionally, circGOLPH3 upregulated OSCC cell migration and invasion.
