Disease Information

 Disease OntologyMeSH
Disease ID:DOID:8778D003424
Disease Name:Crohn's diseaseCrohn Disease
Category:Disease OntologyMeSH
Type:Digestive System Diseases
Define:An intestinal disease that involves inflammation located_in intestine.A chronic transmural inflammation that may involve any part of the DIGESTIVE TRACT from MOUTH to ANUS, mostly found in the ILEUM, the CECUM, and the COLON. In Crohn disease, the inflammation, extending through the intestinal wall from the MUCOSA to the serosa, is characteristically asymmetric and segmental. Epithelioid GRANULOMAS may be seen in some patients.

Reference

[1] PubMed ID:33677577
Disease Name:Crohn Disease
Sample:intestine mucosa of CD patients and mice
Dysfunction Pattern:Interaction(miR-146b-5p-CLDN11/NUMB Pathway)
Validated Method:Western Blot//Transfection//qRT-PCR//RIP//Luciferase Report Assay//Microarray
Description:MALAT1 was aberrantly downregulated in the intestine mucosa of CD patients and mice with experimental colitis. MALAT1 regulated the intestinal mucosal barrier and regained intestinal homeostasis by sequestering miR-146b-5p and maintaining the expression of the AJC proteins NUMB and CLDN11.
Causality:Yes
Causal Description:MALAT1 knockout mice were hypersensitive to DSS-induced experimental colitis.
Clinical-realted Application:
