Disease Information

 Disease OntologyMeSH
Disease ID:DOID:8584D002051
Disease Name:Burkitt lymphomaBurkitt Lymphoma
Category:Disease OntologyMeSH
Type:Infections
Define:A mature B-cell neoplasm of B-cells found in the germinal center.A form of undifferentiated malignant LYMPHOMA usually found in central Africa, but also reported in other parts of the world. It is commonly manifested as a large osteolytic lesion in the jaw or as an abdominal mass. B-cell antigens are expressed on the immature cells that make up the tumor in virtually all cases of Burkitt lymphoma. The Epstein-Barr virus (HERPESVIRUS 4, HUMAN) has been isolated from Burkitt lymphoma cases in Africa and it is implicated as the causative agent in these cases; however, most non-African cases are EBV-negative.

Sample:
Dysfunction Pattern:regulation[TGF-β1 signaling pathway]
Validated Method:qRT-PCR
Description:In conclusion, the findings of the present study suggested that the knockdown of ANRIL may inhibit cell proliferation and promote cell apoptosis in BL by regulating the TGF?β1 signaling pathway, which may provide a novel target for the treatment of BL.
Causality:Yes
Causal Description:The results revealed that ANRIL silencing inhibited the proliferation and promoted the apoptosis of BL cells.
Clinical-realted Application:
