Disease Name:glioblastomaGlioblastoma
Category:Disease OntologyMeSH
Type:Neoplasms
Define:A malignant astrocytoma characterized by the presence of small areas of necrotizing tissue that is surrounded by anaplastic cells as well as the presence of hyperplastic blood vessels, and that has_material_basis_in abnormally proliferating cells derives_from multiple cell types including astrocytes and oligondroctyes.A malignant form of astrocytoma histologically characterized by pleomorphism of cells, nuclear atypia, microhemorrhage, and necrosis. They may arise in any region of the central nervous system, with a predilection for the cerebral hemispheres, basal ganglia, and commissural pathways. Clinical presentation most frequently occurs in the fifth or sixth decade of life with focal neurologic signs or seizures.

Disease Name:Glioblastoma
Sample:glioblastoma tissues and cells
Dysfunction Pattern:regulation[PABPC1-BDNF-AS-RAX2-DLG5]
Validated Method:RNA Pull-Down//Western Blot//CCK8//qRT-PCR//RIP//Cell Apoptosis Assay//ChIP
Description:In this study, we confirmed that lncRNA brain-derived neurotrophic factor antisense (BDNF-AS) was downregulated in glioblastoma tissues and cells, interacted and stabilized by polyadenylate-binding protein cytoplasmic 1 (PABPC1). In general, this study elucidated that the PABPC1-BDNF-AS-RAX2-DLG5 mechanism may contribute to the anticancer potential of glioma cells and may provide potential therapeutic targets for human glioma.
Causality:Yes
Causal Description: Overexpression of BDNF-AS inhibited the proliferation, migration, and invasion, as well as induced the apoptosis of glioblastoma cells.
Clinical-realted Application:
